Sony and Microsoft alike have been making quite a few headlines as far as gaming is concerned. Since the release of both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, it is clear that the fact that they have sold one million units each is going to grab the attention of many. It's not hard to see why but perhaps those who are more casual consumers may have trouble investing. I do not know if every console that has been released for this generation has been successful at bringing solely new experiences that the onset. Yes, you can argue that "Knack" for PS4, for example, was very unique but what about the others which accompanied it? From what I have seen, the games that were released alongside "Knack" were ones that could have been purchased on consoles that people had for nearly a decade or so. It seems as though, according to those in Long Island marketing, that more unique hardware has to be seen.
If it's a matter of Long Island marketing coming into play, perhaps said experiences should be brought to the forefront in terms of what you get out of the box. This is just one of the instances that firms such as fishbat, Inc. would be able to direct their focus to.
As I am someone who has been involved in gaming for many years, a new console launch never fails to grab my attention. I want to be able to see what it has to offer and determine whether or not it will prove to be in my best interest to buy it. After all, these consoles are going to be immensely unique in their own ways. It's just a matter of taking notice of all of the particular differences and seeing which of these consoles will prove to be the most ideal.
